A Comprehensive Guide to Kajabi Funnels

The funnels area in Kajabi is a great way to organize your sales content in the platform and help people move from one place in your audience to another.

There are 3 main advantages to using the “Funnels” feature in Kajabi instead of piecing everything together yourself using the other features of Kajabi. There are also some limitations that are good to be aware of before diving into setting up your funnel with the Funnels tool. I will get into all these things and share some Kajabi Funnels tips and tricks in this comprehensive guide to the Funnels feature in Kajabi. 

Why Use Funnels?

Funnels are great ways to streamline your sales process. They are essentially the connection of all the steps your prospective clients will go through to become a client. The process is planned out, set up, and automated so all you need to do is provide the entry point, and Kajabi will guide people through it all without any attention from you.

3 Advantages of Kajabi Funnels

It is possible to create a funnel inside Kajabi not using the Kajabi Funnels feature, so what are the advantages to using the dedicated feature for Kajabi Funnels?

There are 3 main advantages to using Kajabi Funnels instead of building your own funnel from scratch using the other features of Kajabi. Any funnel you build within the funnels area of Kajabi can be replicated piece by piece using the other features of Kajabi but if you do that, you will miss out on each of the following 3 benefits.

- Funnel Templates -

Kajabi has 7 templates for different types of funnel based on the content of the funnel and your purpose. The difference between these templates is the amount of preloaded content, ie, the number of landing pages and the number of emails in the email sequence.

With each template, you can click the show me how button to see the content in the template and get a short description of what the template was designed to do.

- Organization -

The main area of the funnel builder is the Funnel Overview Page. This page gives you quick access to all the aspects of your funnel, opt-in page, email sequence emails, landing pages, checkout pages, automations, forms, and page details for SEO and social sharing.

From this page you can also see a Funnel Checklist to help you cover all the key points and easily add additional pages or rearrange what is already there.

- Funnel Analytics -

The Kajabi Funnels feature has its own analytics that is separate from the main analytics area in Kajabi. You can view the stats for each funnel and see page view and conversions/conversion rate for each page; email statistics, including sends, opens, and clicks; and total revenue, overall conversion, and revenue per click for the funnel as a whole.

Kajabi Funnel Limitations

The following are limitations to using the Funnels feature within Kajabi instead of building the funnel outside the Funnels feature piece by piece.

• As of writing this article, funnel pages are using Encore 1.xx while new landing pages are using Encore 2.xx. This means that they can’t be updated as new things come out. For example, on a funnel page, TikTok isn’t an option on the social share list while on a landing page it is. 

You can work around this by starting a funnel and then before you design you page, importing new pages from the landing page area and then deleting the template funnel pages, but this is a headache.

• There is slightly less screen space for editing within the funnel feature because of the extra navigational aids that are in a second toolbar on the side of your screen. This would only be an issue if you are working on a smaller screen. 

The workaround for this is that once your funnel is started, you can go to website, then pages, then funnels, then click into your funnel and the page you want to work on. Finding the page this will give you the typical editing experience and not give you access to the funnel overview page or other navigational aid.

Building Funnels in Kajabi

Starting with the templates, building a funnel in Kajabi is an easy process. All the connections you need to make with forms and automations are done for you and easy to see and edit from the funnel overview page.

With the visual flow diagram on the overview page, it is easy to see the order of the pages and make adjustments reorganizing things if necessary. You can also see where tags are being added and when people are getting sent emails.

Building the pages is done through the same page editor as website pages or landing pages so all of your experience there will cross over into the funnels feature.

Kajabi Funnels vs ClickFunnels

Clickfunnels was probably the first online platform to make a name for itself as a funnel builder. It is an industry leader today and if you have ever spoken about funnels around your phone, it is likely that you’ve been dished up a variety of their ads from Google and other social media platforms.

The biggest different between Kajabi and ClickFunnels is the purpose of each platform. Kajabi focuses on being a powerful and user-friendly all-in-one platform to manage your online needs for your business. ClickFunnels focuses on being a powerful funnel platform that is going to help you sell your products. My recommendation is Kajabi because if its simplicity, and because for all of my clients, the funnel abilities in Kajabi are enough to do exactly what they want. ClickFunnels does have more funnel tools and is more powerful in this area, if you are looking for a complex funnel builder, you may want to look to ClickFunnels.

Kajabi Funnels: Tips and Tricks

1. If you delete a funnel in Kajabi all the pages will be transferred to landing pages. If you want to really get rid of them, you will have to delete them from the landing pages area too.
2. If you remove a page from your funnel, it isn’t deleted, it is transferred to the landing pages.
3. If you duplicate a funnels page, the new page is created as a landing page.
4. If you go to the Pages area under Website, you can export your funnel pages if you want to keep them backed up as a zip file or transfer them to another Kajabi account.
5. If you are selling the same product through a few different channels and want to use a funnel in Kajabi as one of the channels, make sure you create a unique offer to use with the funnel. If you don't do this, and you use the same offer that other channels are using, the statistics in your funnel will be skewed by purchases made through other channels.  The same goes for emails and open/click statistics and forms if you are going to need to use different tags. 

Can you Duplicate a Kajabi Funnel?

No, you can’t duplicate a funnel in Kajabi, BUT there is a workaround to save you a ton of work if you are going to recreate an existing funnel. Here’s how:

First - Go into the funnel pages area through Website, then Pages, then Funnels and click on the funnel you want to duplicate.

The next step is to use the three dots on the right side of each page in the funnel and duplicate it. This will make a copy of this page in the landing pages area.

Second - Duplicate any emails or email sequences and the offer. Doing this will keep your funnel statistics accurate. And make new copies of any forms that are on your funnel pages.

Third - Go to Funnels and start a new funnel from scratch, not from one of the templates. From the Funnel overview screen, add all the pages being sure to choose existing landing pages to access the pages you just duplicated, and add your new offer.

Then go into your pages that have forms and change the forms on those pages to the new forms you made and double check all your CTA’s to make sure they are moving to the next stage of the funnel. Connect the form automations to the new emails and you are good to go.
